Top Three Foods That are Causing Your Break Outs

Fighting break outs may be a draining process. From day SPF creams to night creams to gallons and gallons of water, the process can be all too overwhelming and the results all too delayed. So what are you not doing correctly to fight the break outs and better still, how can you ensure you never have to deal with break outs ever? Below are three food changes that will ensure you never have to pop another pimple again.

  1. Avoid sugars.

Sugar is pro-inflammatory. Acne is an inflammatory condition. A person with acne prone skin should follow an anti-inflammatory diet. Artificial sweeteners such as Aspartame are a no-no. So are processed fruit juices as they contain high amounts of inflammatory sugars. If you must have sugar, try stevia, or real fruits, raw honey and maple syrup are also good alternatives.

  1. Dairy

Yes, dairy.  Much of the milk we consume is produced by pregnant cows and it contains high levels of hormones that can send oil glands into over drive. Certain components in the milk are known to aggravate acne conditions. These are progesterone, an insulin like growth factor and other compounds that the human body turns into dehydrotestosterone. Here's the deal breaker, you don't get a pass for buying organic milk. The hormones are just as worse. If milk causes your break outs, you simply have to avoid milk.

  1. More good fats, less bad fats

Good fats such as Omega-3 control the production of leukotriene B4, a compound that increases production of sebum and can cause further inflammation. Taking a daily supplement of omega-3 is good for the skin.

Use less vegetable oils such as sunflower oils and canola oils. Coconut oils especially clogs pores and worsen inflammation. Also, eating beef and eggs from animals that are bred through pastures rather than animals that were corn fed helps.
