‘Iron Fist’ Netflix Gets Showrunner: Marvel Announces 4th MCU Netflix Show Recruits ‘Dexter’ Alum To Work Hell’s Kitchen Magic

With the first two Marvel Cinematic Universe shows on Netflix already out (namely the Charlie Cox-led "Daredevil" and "A.K.A. Jessica Jones" starring Krysten Ritter), the quest for the rest of the Defenders continues, as production for the third show, "Luke Cage," has now officially begun - so, naturally, more "Iron Fist" Netflix news lies ahead as well!

A few weeks back, rumors surfaced that the "Iron Fist" Netflix series may have been halted due to the fact that no news came from the crew at Marvel Television, but these were quickly dismantled by Marvel Entertainment CCO Joe Quesada - and now, the show takes a step forward by picking its showrunner!

According to an exclusive story by websites Comic Book and Heroic Hollywood, there's a new man in charge behind the scenes in the MCU, as a television veteran has just been hired as the showrunner for "Iron Fist" on Netflix: Scott Buck, who in the past worked on "Dexter" and the HBO cult show "Six Feet Under."

This is major news, as the "Iron Fist" Netflix series would mark the fourth and final installment of the shows leading up to a "Defenders" mini-series after the aforementioned shows; however, as The Punisher (played by Jon Bernthal) is set to make his first appearance in the second season of "Daredevil," there's a possibility that, if the character's successful enough, he might get his own series.

"Returning to New York City after being missing for years, Daniel Rand fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist," goes Marvel's description for the "Iron Fist" Netflix show, via Newsarama.

The series is still very early in production, with no actor cast in the leading role yet - and considering the second season of "Daredevil," the first of "Luke Cage" and possibly a second one of "Jessica Jones" might be underway, it could be a while seeing "Iron Fist" on Netflix.
