Top Chef desserts contestant arrested over child pornography allegations. Top Chef contestant and finalist Morgan Wilson was arrested after he was found with child pornography material that he intended to distribute.
Morgan Wilson was arrested in 2010 after files shared from his laptop using the file sharing software Limeware indicated the transfer of child pornography. The images and videos were assessed by police and what they found baffled them.
The undercover police investigators who received a file from Wilson's computer found images of children as young as 2 years old engaged in sexual conduct; grossly inappropriate. The images and files led to Morgan's arrest, breaking the story former Top Chef Desserts contestant arrested.
Morgan Wilson admitted to downloading of the child pornography material from the internet and saving them. Police officers later searched Wilson's residence on September 17, 2010, from where they recovered three images that had been sent from Wilson's IP address. They were later downloaded by investigators.
The former Top Chef desserts contestant arrested, Wilson, was released on December 16, 2010 on a bail of $10,000. He would no longer access a computer without a monitoring software.
The executive pastry chef was a finalist at Top Chef desserts and was known for getting very emotional on television as he talked about his son. Wilson has a 10 year old boy with his divorced wife.
The executive pastry chef from The Lobby Lounge at the Dallas Ritz Carlton Hotel was later relieved of his duties at the hotel following the accusations. The hotel even removed the chef's bio from their website, distancing themselves from the former television contestant.
Wilson, 41, was indicted on three second degree felony charges of possession with intent to distribute child pornography. His arrest occurred barely a month after the final episode of Top Chef Desserts aired.
