Stephen Fry Quotes: ‘V For Vendetta’ Atheist Actor Speaks About God [VIDEO]

He's one of the most prominent public figures in the United Kingdom thanks to his pop culture icon status as the longtime host of the BBC quiz show QI, where Stephen Fry quotes rack up television screens in the entire country; now, the often-cheeky comedian and social media icon was asked what he'd say to God if they were face to face.

Famous for his cheeky remarks and witty Stephen Fry quotes, the actor has stated on numerous occasions that he's also an atheist, and, as anyone who's familiar with his work would expect, he has a grimly comedic take on the possibility of a conversation with God.

According to The Independent, the latest Stephen Fry quotes have been released as part of an extended and upcoming interview for "The Meaning of Life," an interview show hosted by Gay Byrne that appears on channel RTé One, where he was asked the same question as those who go to the James Lipton-hosted American television show "Inside the Actors Studio" on Bravo.

As The Irish Times reports, the controversial Stephen Fry quotes came as he was asked what would he say to God if he was confronted with him at the pearly gates; Fry went on to say he considered the divinity "utterly evil, capricious and monstrous" if he indeed existed at all.

"I'll say, 'Bone cancer in children? What's that about?" Fry told his interviewer, according to The Irish Independent "How dare you? How dare you create a world in which there is such misery that's not our fault? It's not right. It's utterly, utterly evil. Why should I respect a capricious, mean-minded, stupid god who creates a world which is so full of injustice and pain?"

The follow-up question was whether he'd like to "get in" to Heaven, to which Fry stated that he wouldn't want to go there on God's terms.

While Stephen Fry quotes are always interesting to read, the actor and host has most recently made news after marrying partner Elliot Spencer recently in Norfolk.
