Recent Study Shows Mind Over Meal Is The Best Way To Lose Weight

A lot of people are having a hard time losing weight these days and there are so many factors that bring it about. But there are also a lot of ways on how it can be solved. One of the solutions on this issue is to first have a healthy mind.

In an article published by NDTV, mindfulness contributes a lot to losing weight. Being aware of what you're eating, the calories you're taking in and the nutritional value that a food brings to your system, will help a person overcome obesity and even other diseases caused by an overeating disorder.

Being able to define an emotion while you're facing a meal is a must, there should be an awareness if you're on it because you're really hungry or simply binging. Awareness and reality check is a need in order to lose weight. This study was backed up by Brown University assistant professor of epidemiology, Eric Loucks, who shares and hopefully be able to present  proofs regarding the said research.

Based on Loucks' observation while on this case, he said that people who are in touch with the present moment are most likely not to gain weight. In relation to this research, he indicated that there is a possible relation that if someone is aware of his or her present state, that person is of low risk when it comes to gaining other known deadly diseases, such as having a high blood pleasure as this could also affect a person's entire eating habits.

The assistant professor did this research using 400 people, getting their body weight and their current state of mind by using a survey that has 15 simple questions. That survey involves questions on how these people are dealing with their current lives. And based on what he has gathered, people who are not living in the present moment and who are not mindful of their diet have a 34% tendency to gain a lot of weight.
