Pineapples and Its Health Benefits

Pineapples is not only a refreshingly delicious fruit even if it's mixed with drinks. Pineapples can be really healthy too. It has many health benefits that people don't actually know.

Not only because it is a fruit, in which everybody assumes is healthy, it is because it is rich in vitamins and antioxidants that is usually health beneficiary.

Pineapples are rich in vitamins and minerals. It is rich with vitamins A and C, potassium, calcium and phosphorus. It is also rich in fiber and calories and low in fat and cholesterol.

Pineapples are good for bones as well. It contains manganese that a person needs to build stronger bones and connective tissues. A person usually needs up to 75 percent of manganese in their body to maintain a good health but before that, a person has to maintain a good diet to sustain their body with 75 percent manganese, they have to consume fruits with manganese but adding a cup of pineapples to one's diet can sustain the 75 percent of manganese that a person needs. (This does not suggest to a person to lessen their fruit intake, there may be fruits that have vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that a person needs in their system that may not be present in pineapples.)

Eating pineapples are also recommended for those who suffer arthritis as it has anti-inflammatory qualities that ease the pain of arthritis

A high amount of vitamin C and antioxidants are present in pineapples which can help protect the health of the eyes of a person as they age. Vitamin C can also help the risk of having gingivitis and periodontal disease which can not only destroy gum tissues and jaw bones, it can also increase the risk of heart disease, strokes and diabetes.

The protein-digesting properties found in pineapples can keep a person's digestive tract healthy. It has Bromelain, an extract present in the pineapple stems can help neutralize liquids in one's body to make sure they're not too acidic.

A pineapple is rich in potassium but low in sodium, which can help in maintaining normal blood pressure levels.
