Mind Over Sickness: Staying Healthy Depsite Your Unhealthy Diet

Lack of exercise and an unhealthy diet may be the cause of most individuals' sickness, but there's always a deeper cause. Some lived an unhealthy lifestyle wherein they never exercised, ate healthy, or even drink supplements. Staying physically fit is normally advised, but for some individuals. Healthy living isn't an option. Physical health may be important, but mental wellness is a greater factor as it influences most of our actions. Having a healthy mental well being is often linked to healthy lifestyle, in which an individual has a positive outlook in life.

As per Wake Up World, Lissa Rankin, MD who is a mind-body medicine physician, the founder of Whole Health Medicine Institute training program for physicians and health care providers who are based in New York, stated that there is such thing as 'Mind Over Medicine', in which it states that mental health plays an important role in one's well being. Rankin elaborated that an individual can get sick despite his/her healthy lifestyle, and one can stay fist despite living an unhealthy life.

Rankin then made it a point that 'loneliness' does play an important role in terms of physical health. As per research, the stress lonely people feel increases cortisol levels which eventually activates the sympathetic nervous system, which then affect several physical factors such as the heart rate, blood pressure, deteriorates the immune system, increases the rate of heart disease. There is the common physical manifestation lonely people exhibit.

As per Psychology Today there are hidden dangers lurking in loneliness which can cause the physical health to deteriorate. As per the website "In fact, evidence has been growing that when our need for social relationships is not met, we fall apart mentally and even physically. There are effects on the brain and on the body."
