LeBron James Releases New Limited-Edition Sprite Flavor (VIDEO)

Maybe having your own limited-edition shoes, a limited edition gum or being an international superstar isn't enough for LeBron James - now he's adding a limited edition drink to his resume.

ESPN reported that the Miami Heat superstar has collaborated with longtime sponsor Coca-Cola to develop a new, limited-edition Sprite drink. Sprite 6 Mix by LeBron James is the first Sprite flavor made in partnership with the NBA champion.

According to a press release, Sprite 6 Mix will be the classic lemon-lime soda with "a splash of cherry and orange flavors." The flavor, packaging graphics and name were co-developed with James to "truly reflect his style and taste preferences."

"LeBron James is the perfect partner to bring our fans new product innovation," Kimberly Paige, Associate Vice President, Sprite Brands, Coca-Cola North America, said. "We've enjoyed an amazing relationship with LeBron since he entered the NBA in 2003, and we're proud to have him contribute to Sprite in a meaningful way that we know will excite Sprite lovers and his fans."

Beginning in mid-March, the drink will be available nationwide for a limited time in 19.2-ounce cans and 20-ounce bottles. The cans feature James' jersey number along with a crown inspired by his nickname "King James." In the 15-second commercial and digital videos James' mission is to #ChangeTheGame when it comes to soda.

"I never imagined I would have my own flavor someday," James said in a statement. "I had a great time working with the Sprite team to turn my favorite flavors into a pretty cool variation of one of my favorite brands. I'm proud of what we created and I'm excited for my fans to try it."
