'X-Men: Apocalypse': Leaked Trailer, Rating Released, New Set-up for Brazil Comic-Con [Video]

"I have seen the ending of the world! There was only death..." Jean Grey describes her nightmare to Professor Xavier. This opens the trailer of the latest instalment of the X-Men franchise.

'X-Men: Apocalypse', which is directed by Bryan Singer is set for a May 27, 2016 debut. It takes the story up 10 years after 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' where Charles and Raven gather a force of good mutants to repel the Apocalypse. In turn Apocalypse, who will find mutants as outcasts in the world after his sleep of many centuries, will form his own army. This will bring in Magneto, Storm, Angel and Psylocke.

Thanks to a transcript from the Italian CinemaDays Sorrento here is a taste of the 'X-Men: Apocalypse' trailer before its actual official theatre release, which coincides with the release of 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'. Alberta Film Ratings recently stamped a PG on said trailer. Leak of the trailer had been making the rounds since summer's Comic-Con. Writer and producer Simon Kinberg promises that the trailer is "certainly longer than a minute and it has a ton of cool stuff in it."

With thanks to Comicbook, here is the continued summary of the trailer: Moira Taggert is seen telling Xavier of a god-like creature who is the possible origin of the mutants.

The scene jumps to Psylocke and Storm accompanying a figure in a hood as they search for other mutants. The figure pronounces his many names across the centuries and tells his companions that the world must be changed, overhauled by mutants.

The trio make their way to Magneto. Magneto asks: 'Who are you?' The hood is pushed back and the figure reveals his face... the Apocalypse. Destruction after destruction in his wake fill the screen.

The scene jumps to Xavier who looks on in terror. "It can control all of us."

Two opposing mutant groups are shown. Apocalypse directs a strong blast to Xavier in his chair, Jean screams. Through a hallway Quicksilver runs in slow motion toward Cerebro as Mystique tells Xavier: 'I came to fight.'

The scene jumps to Xavier as he goes into the Cerebro chamber his eyes turning black: "I've never felt like this before." The Professor is likely possessed by Apocalypse.

The trailer closes with a shot of a bald Professor X.

Casted are largely the usual familiar faces of the previous films: James McAvoy (Charles), Rose Byrne (Moira MacTaggert), Nicholas Hoult (Hank McCoy / Beast), Oscar Isaac (En Sabah Nur / Apocalypse), Michael Fassbender (Erik Lensherr / Magneto), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Kurt Wagner / Nightcrawler), Jennifer Lawrence(Raven / Mystique) , Olivia Munn (Betsy Braddock / Psylocke), Tye Sheridan (Scott Summers / Cyclops), Sophie Turner(Jean Grey), Alexandra Shipp (Ororo Munroe / Storm), Ben Hardy (Warren Worthington III / Angel), and Lana Condor (Jubilation Lee / Jubilee).

In the meantime, Brazil's Comic-Con will see new bits including the new Archangel art and a new banner, which @UniversoXmen shares on Twitter.
