4 Spring Foods People In The Southern Hemisphere Can’t Miss This Season!

As we've discussed some of our favorite fall foods in honor of the fall equinox in the Northern hemisphere, don't think we've forgotten about our friends in the South, like Australians and New Zealanders; as the fall starts today on one side of the planet, the other side is actually celebrating a warmer climate after the long months of winter ... so, as the spring equinox starts today, September the 23rd, in the Southern hemisphere, here is our top 4 of spring foods!

The spring season is known for its return to warmer weather and the appearance of all the colors of the rainbow around the trees. But, also, it's a time to enjoy some of the delicious foods this season has to offer!

1.    Strawberries

One of the most delicious fruits altogether, strawberries are in full bloom in the spring months - adding their bright red to all the colors of the season. These tasty fruits are rich in vitamin C, minerals and folic acid; also, they make for some of the best desserts in the world!

2.    Cherries

Another bright-colored fruit that makes for delicious spring foods is the cherry. These fruits will be around in their most delicious versions by late Spring and won't last long: until only mid summer. However, their delicate texture and flavors will add sweetness to your cooking for a few months!

3.    Blueberries

Another berry on the list (as these usually bloom and taste their best between the spring and the summer), they make great antioxidants - besides, thanks to the large amount of phytonutrients, they help the body build up its defenses against diseases. And blueberry muffins make the best breakfasts!

4.    Pineapples

While the pineapple is a fruit mostly found in tropical climate, those that can be found in template climate will usually bloom come spring. A citric fruit like limes and lemons, pineapples are a great dessert by themselves and also make for some of the most delicious summer cocktails ... which anyone can practice during the spring!
