Adele Holds the Music Industry's Past and Future

It's not a wonder that millions of people can relate to Adele's music. The world-famous singer took the world by storm when her newest album, 25, was released last month.

The album sold 3.38 million copies on its first week alone. Selling 2 million units was already a big feat, which means that this was a major record-breaking event. In a week, her album made the biggest sales in history.

Adele cannot explain about how she achieved this impossible task. In an exclusive interview with Time, she said that the numbers are outrageous, adding that she's not even from the States. "Maybe they think I'm related to the Queen. Americans are obsessed with the royal family." Maybe the American people simply waited to hear your voice again, Adele.

This isn't surprising at all. 30 million copies were sold worldwide for her last album, 21. Well, it's just expected of her to break records.

Adele is more than just selling the albums. The music industry has been programmed to sound like a generic genre. The fad in music is being followed by others, based on who might be trending. Unfortunately, this is what has become of pop culture.

The singer goes beyond this. Her music lets you remember the past. There is intimacy and simplicity in her music that cuts you within.  Her voice adds to the classic twist of her sound.

Ryan Tedder, the singer of OneRepublic, says, "She studied Ella Fitzgerald and Nat King Cole-all the old greats. You have a voice that's been trained on the greatest singers of all time." No one can ever contest with the originality of her voice. Tedder also adds that her authenticity is what's drawing people to listen to her music.

Adele has extraordinary talent: her music leads us to the past as well as the future.
