US Postal Service Introduces New Grapes Stamp for 2016

The United States' Postal service has come up with all new grapes stamp added to its portfolio of stamps. The price of this new grapes stamp is 5 cents.

The grapes stamp that has been introduced is symbolic of something special about the country. It refers to the passion of the people of United States towards wine.

It also represents the tons of grapes that are produced every year for the preparation of wine in the country and it stands as an honor to it, according to The Daily Meal.

The stamps are designed by the best art hands with lots of imagination and perfection. The artwork that appears in the stamp was done by John Burgoyne. Burgoyne is originally from the west Barnstable, Massachusetts.

Burgoyne has played his finger over the art to bring the imagination. He has used pen, ink and watercolor.

The combination has resulted in the master art of pinot noir grapes. These pinot noir grapes are believed to be the most ancient grapes that are cultivated in the country.

So the pinot noir grapes are the oldest of the Vitus Genus. Though the artwork was done by Burgoyne it was actually designed by Derry Noyes of Washington.

The winery, which started its grapes cultivation in the 1700s, is the largest producer of wine in America as per date.

It shows that wine and grapes cultivation that have been in practice right from the ancients days. Pinot Noir is now grown in California, Oregon and New York which was once the exclusive of Burgundy.

According to the USPS press release, the grapes stamps are for the business mailers only when it was designed. However, it is still not restricted.

The lovers of wine can buy the stamp too. A full roll of 10,000 stamps which costs $500 can be purchased which is nearly the same as three bottles of 2012 Kosta Browne from California's Koplen Vineyard.
