Meet the Naga Chilli Vodka, The Spiciest Drink In The World

There's a drink in town that even lovers of spicy food might have second thoughts in drinking. The drink, named Naga Chilli Vodka, is said to be so hot that it is 200 time hotter than the dreaded sriracha sauce and almost comparable in heat to milder pepper sprays.

Introduced back in 2012, Naga Chilli Vodka got its incredible heat from a particularly hot variety of pepper, reports Gizmodo. The unique vodka, is infused with the Naga Jolokia chilli pepper. Also known as "Ghost Chilli", the Naga Jolokia chilli pepper is so hot that it is measured to be in the range between 330,00 to over 1,000,000 units of the Scoville scale.

By the way, the Scoville scale is a way to measure the heat or spicyness of food items. For comparison, a Tabasco Original Hot Sauce blend, while already too spicy by the average diner's standard, is relatively puny when compared to the Ghost Chilli's heat. The Tabasco sauce is only measured to be around 3,750 Scoville units according to FoodBeast. Compare this with the dangerously high 100,000 Scoville units of the oritinal Naga Chilli Vodka introduced in 2012.

Which begs the question, would anyone be willing to try this insanely spicy drink guaranteed to sear one's throat? Indeed there are brave souls willing to risk burning their tongues by drinking the spicy vodka. In fact, due to customer demand, the company even had to come up with an even spicier version which is scorchingly hot at 250,000 Scoville units.

For those who want to challenge the world record, there is an even more dangerous version - the hotttest of them all that might be best taken only by fire breathing dragons with its insane 500,000 Scoville units of spiciness. In case one wants to earn some bragging rights, that is almost as strong as some pepper sprays on the market.

But be warned, those who tried it seemed to unequivocally regret seconds after their first, and probably last, shot as seen in the video below.
