Avengers Age Of Ultron Box Office: Marvel Sequel Breaks $1 Billion Barrier!

As the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems to expand further by the week, this year's biggest project for the franchise has been nothing if not successful, and the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" box office numbers are here to prove it, as the latest film of the MCU hits one of the largest barriers in movie-earning, as it reaches $1 billion worldwide.

With an incredible cast that includes MCU regulars like Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Hemsworth (as Iron Man and Thor, respectively) besides newer additions like Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen besides the movie's record-breaking director and screenwriter Joss Whedon, there's little surprise in seeing how much success "Avengers: Age of Ultron" box office has had.

According to Digital Trends, the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" box office success was cemented last weekend, becoming the eighth Disney Pictures film to hit the incredibly high mark, even in spite of being less of a success than its predecessor.

The Guardian reports that the way the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" box office hit this new mark was right after its China release, as the film opened with a huge haul on its first six days in the Asian country, making an amazing $156.3 million, the second biggest opening in the country's box office history - only surpassed by last month's sequel "Fast & Furious 7."

Forbes reports that the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" box office numbers could basically triple the success of the first film in China, as its entire run only made $91 million in its entire run in the country, as experts wondered whether superhero films would ever catch on in China as the country had only been recently exposed to western comic books, and it was thought the dynamics behind these stories wouldn't translate well with Chinese audiences.

This definitely seems like a theory of the past now that the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" box office numbers make it, along with fellow Disney hits "Iron Man 3" and "Frozen," among the highest-earning films of all time.
