Starbucks' New Frappuccinos Contain As Much Sugar as a Litre of Coke

I's been 20 years since Starbucks introduced the world to the Frappuccino, its ice-blended coffee, milk and ice drink. The coffee giant is celebrating the frappe by releasing six new customer-inspired flavors and the amount of sugar in each was also unveiled.

The legions of Frappuccino lovers wanted to see pastries, cake and more caramel in their drinks. It's no surprise that a lot more sugar were added to satisfy their customers' serious sweet tooth.

The new Caramel Cocoa Cluster Frappuccino Blended Coffee Beverage is a blend of toffee nut syrup, Frappuccino Roast Coffee, milk and ice and topped with a layer of dark caramel sauce, finished with whipped cream and a drizzle of mocha sauce.

This nutty breverage contains 97.3g (19 teaspoons) of sugar.

Cinnamon Roll Frappuccino Blended Coffee Beverage is a blend of cinnamon dolce syrup, white chocolate mocha sauce, vanilla bean, Frappuccino Roast Coffee, milk and ice, finished with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon dolce topping.

This is the worst offender according to MINA, containing an enormous 102g of sugar (20 teaspoons), the equivalent of drinking a one-litre bottle of Coca Cola.

It is also more than double the recommended daily allowance of sugar for adults in the UK.

Cotton Candy Frappuccino Blended Creme Beverage is a blend of vanilla bean, raspberry syrup, milk and ice, finished with whipped cream.

The adorable-looking drink contains 83g (16 teaspoons) of the sweet stuff.

Cupcake Frappuccino Blended Crème Beverage is ablend of vanilla bean, hazelnut syrup, milk and ice, finished with whipped cream.

It's no brainer that cupcakes are loaded with sugar and this one is no exception, containing 79g of sugar (15 teaspoons).

Lemon Bar Frappuccino Blended Crème Beverage is a lend of lemonade, vanilla syrup, milk and ice, finished with whipped cream and a sprinkle of caramel sugar.

This drink has the least sugar among the new flavors but still contain a whopping 71g of sugar (14 teaspoons).

The last flavor is the Red Velvet Cake Frappuccino Blended Crème Beverage. It is a blend of mocha sauce, raspberry syrup, vanilla syrup and Frappuccino chips with milk and ice, finished with whipped cream.

The popular red velvet cake is turned into a drink and contained 87g (17 teaspoons) of sugar.

The 'fan flavors' are currently only available in the US.
