Using Facebook Is Like Coming Out Of The Closet- Ian McKellen

Actor Ian McKellen has always been vocal about him being gay and he told Huff Post on Monday that Facebook is now like an avenue for closet gays to finally come out.

The "Mr. Holmes" actor has made his presence know in social media as well as making it clear to the public how openly gay he is. In the actor's own words about his encounter with Facebook, "A lot of people follow things that I do and want to talk about, so I feel I've gotten lots of extended friendships with people I'll never actually meet."

He found Facebook as an amazing avenue for people to come out as gay. It was a place where he met a lot of people who think like him even when they didn't really speak of the same language. He said that it's also a place where he found a lot of gay people who had the same problems he in his age also has encountered.

Then 76-year-old veteran actor felt so free when he came out to the public as gay and he calls it as one of the best things that has even happened in his life. Being openly gay to the public is the best decision he has ever done as well. He felt reborn and everything just felt better than before when he finally voiced out his true self. He said that, "Everything went better, and it felt as if a great millstone had dropped from my back that I didn't know had been there."

Ian McKellen has been in the movie business for a long time now. Celebrity Net Worth reported that the veteran actor is worth $55 million. And in case you don't know, he is a native of England, which is why he is perfect for English roles with a thick British accent.
