Does Adam Sandler Plan To Make A Happy Gilmore 2?

In an interview with Screen Rant promoting his appearance in the upcoming alien invasion/old-school video game film, Pixels, Sandler fielded a question about potential sequels to either of his two watershed classics, 1995's Billy Madison and 1996's Happy Gilmore. Going by Sandler's rather unspecific answer, there seems to be serious reservation regarding the possibility of trying to make lightning strike twice for either property. As Sandler explains, "I don't think about it, but those two [films] - I loved doing them. They're big ideas. Going back to school was fun for Billy, and then Happy Gilmore playing golf - there's something there. I don't know. We'll see. I doubt it, though.

Adam Richard Sandler is an American actor, comedian, screenwriter, entrepreneur, film producer, and musician. After becoming a Saturday night live cast member, Sandler went on to star in many Hollywood feature films that combined have grossed over $2 billion at the box office. Although his earliest films did not receive critical praise, he started to receive more positive reviews, beginning with Punch-Drunk Love in 2002. The review of Punch-Drunk Love concluded that Sandler had been wasted in earlier films with poorly written scripts and characters with no development.

Sandler formed his film production company, Happy Madison Productions, in 1999, first producing fellow SNL alumnus Rob Schneider's film Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigalo. The majority of the company's films have received negative reviews from critics, with three considered to be among the worst made ever yet most have performed well at box office. Another person who Sandler has co-starred with many times is Drew Barrymore. On June 22, 2003, Sandler married actress Jacqueline Samantha Titone. Titone converted to Sandler's religion, Judaism, in 2000. The couple has two daughters: Sadie Madison Sandler (born 2006) and Sunny Madeline Sandler (born 2008). Sandler lives with his family in Los Angeles.
