The tennis tournament takes place at Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena in Shanghai, China and will feature the U.K. champion Andy Murray and world's No. 2 tennis player Novak Djokovic among others.
Murray won his first Grand Slam title recently at the US Open against Djokovic, and also beat Federer at the London Olympics this year. His new coach Ivan Lendl seems to have changed Murray's game dramatically. He is expected to perform well for this tournament also.
Djokovic beat Tomas Berdych in the semifinals 6-3, 6-4.
The final score between Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray was 5-7, 7-6 (13-11), 6-3.
"It was a disappointing one to lose,'' Murray said. "I've lost tougher matches than that before in the biggest events. So I'm sure I'll recover from it pretty well."
