Ronda Rousey Could Have Earned $ 5M for 34-Secs Fight

Ronda Rousey retained her Women's Bantamweight Championship when she won against Bethe Corrreia in Brazil last August 1.  It was an amazingly brief fight that lasted a full 34 seconds. The most amazing part is that it earned 'The Cupcake' an estimated $ 5 million, reports Fortune.

Experts are weighing in on the paycheck the 'Rowdy' took home since the match was in Brazil, and there is no requirement to declare how much the fighters bring home. They, however, based their numbers on the fight of Rousey against Davis last month.

Here are the estimates of the professionals:  for her performance of the night, a bonus of $ 50,000, for the fight itself at least $ 120,000. The unknown amount and what is usually the staggering amount comes from the Pay-Per-View percentage the fighters earn. Fans of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) had to pay $ 49.99 to watch the fight.  UFC president Dana White estimates that Rousey could have earned between $ 1M to $ 2M.  But Yahoo MMA writer Kevin Iole challenges this number, with his estimate of as high as $ 5M

Last February, in her fight against Cat Zingano, she is estimated to have earned a cool $ 1 million.  She got a guaranteed amount of $ 65,000, another $ 65,000 for the win and her percentage in the PPV a projected share of $ 870,000.

There is no exact number on how much MMA salaries are. There are locker room bonuses, PPV points and sponsorships.  Rousey is not solely dependent on her earnings inside the ring. At the rate she is going, she is minting money doing modeling jobs, and even selling books.

Rousey is not amassing wealth for nothing.  She is deeply into charity work, and giving away her possessions.  More recently, she donated to a judo school in Rio de Janeiro a replica of the belt she won in her fight with Correia.
