Anne Hathaway 2015: ‘Les Miserables’ Oscar Winner Starring In ‘Ambassador’s Wife’ Miniseries – After ‘True Detective,’ Movie Stars All Over TV

As television goes through what has been called its golden age with shows breaking the norm in the past few years (staring with "The Sopranos" and now going all the way to cult show "Game of Thrones"), now another Oscar winner's going to the small screen as Anne Hathaway 2015 joins a new miniseries.

After Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson went on "True Detective" last year, it would seem like the new fad is for major movie actors to join the small screen and Anne Hathaway 2015, ever the trendsetter, is now joining "The Ambassador's Wife," a miniseries about the kidnapped wife of a diplomat in an Arab country.

According to AV Club, Anne Hathaway's 2015 miniseries will be based on a new novel written by Jennifer Steil about an American woman who is kidnapped in Yemen, an event that unleashes catastrophic diplomatic consequences because she's married to the British ambassador.

As Vanity Fair reports, the recently announced Anne Hathaway 2015 project sounds oddly similar to the recent miniseries "The Honorable Woman," starring Maggie Gyllenhaal, which had a very similar plotline and saw Jake Gyllenhaal's sister winning a Golden Globe and packing up an Emmy nomination as well.

"The Ambassador's Wife is an incredible story that pulls you in immediately and resonates with all of us based on the images and news headlines that are pervasive in our lives today," said producer Mark Gordon about the upcoming Anne Hathaway 2015 miniseries in a statement to Yahoo! "We are so fortunate to have Anne starring in this timely, gripping and compassionate drama. She is in a league all her own, and we cannot think of anyone who can better portray Steil's complex heroine."

For this project, the "Les Miserables" actress won't only be starring in the main role; Hathaway will also be producing, as it was her who got the rights to adapt it.

For now, this Anne Hathaway 2015 project still lacks a network, but with the Oscar winner's star power will surely land the miniseries a spot in a network soon enough.
