Mother Of Woman With Down Syndrome Killed In Hit-And-Run Asks Driver To Come Forward

The mother of a 22 year old woman with Down syndrome, who was killed on Friday morning is asking the perpetrator to identify himself.

The victim, Alexandra Ayala, was hit by a car at S.E. 89th near Shields. Surveillance cameras show that the driver of the car just went on after hitting the girl.

Now, the mother of the victim, Angela Jackson wants the driver to come forward.

"Just the fact that she was left in the street like an animal, you know," she said. "She didn't deserve that."

While the family is calling for justice, they have a message for the driver.

"You will never know what you took from us. We will never have her to get those wet kisses, those sweet hugs," Jackson said. "She was always so happy, so loving. Oh God, just a huge heart."

As Ayala's family tries to accept her tragic death, they still try to find peace amongst the challenge they are faced with.

 "I think that's the hardest part right now, just knowing that she's gonna be gone, but I know that she is in a better place," said Alyssa Williams, Ayala's older sister.

"She was just a little angel on earth. Now, she's an angel in heaven," Jackson exclaimed. "We will miss her."

They believed that to be true.Since on the day Ayala died, it is told that she left in the middle of the night while Mrs. Jackson was asleep,she was actually headed towards a nearby church, according to NewsChannel 4.

While Police are searching for the culprit, Mrs. Jackson hold's no ill will for the driver. She just wants the  person to come forward.

Authorities believes that the type of car that hit Ayala is a 2007 to 2009 year model and is believed to be a Mazda CX-7. However, they are not sure ofg the color of the vehicle.
