Evie Branan of Michigan suffered a debilitating stroke years ago that left her in a semi-coma.
The 79 year-old was "unable to speak, move or eat on her own" The Christian Science Monitor reported.
Her condition made her a permanent resident of the Willowbrook long-term care unit with little expectation of improvement.
Two years ago, on May 7, 2011, Branan miraculously awoke. Her first words were "I want to go to a Bob Seger concert."
Branan's wish is Seger's command as the former coma patient cheered and danced in the crowd on Thursday night at The Palace of Auburn Hills. She was also able to meet the rock legend and his band members in person. They even received the VIP treatment.
"I always want to try and help out with stories like that because Bob loves his fans. It's such a cool story I just wanted to help out in any way I could," said Ann Tenbrusch, an employee at Seger's management company, according to the International Business Times. "[Her story] was definitely nothing I had heard before."
Branan said she must have been thinking about Seger before she suffered the stroke and fell into a coma.
One of the women who helped Branan during her time at Willowbrook, Michelle Cross, also helped her contact Seger's people.
"Things like this don't just happen. Everytime I talk about her [Branan] I light up...I want to get out to people that there is hope," she said. "This story is truly amazing."
"Well my wish is coming true. I'm so excited I can't hardly talk," Branan said. "There is a man upstairs that watches over us all."
