7-Eleven Launches New Hangover and Date Night Packs for Home Delivery

7-Eleven has announced a partnership with DoorDash on Tuesday to begin delivery service of the chain's merchandise in five cities.

Fans of the 24/7 convenience store living in Chichago, New York and Los Angeles can now get products delivered to their humble abodes. It will soon be available in Boston and Washington, D.C. too.

"By working with DoorDash, we can bring on-demand delivery to more people and more places," Raja Doddala, 7-Eleven's vice president of innovation and omnichannel strategy, told Chicago Tribune.

It was also announced that the home delivery service will include themed "convenience packs." These new packages are tailored to specific events or situations in your life, Us Weekly reported.

For example, the "Hangover Package" includes extra-strength acetaminophen, a 28-ounce fruit punch Gatorade, a large pepperoni pizza and a smoked turkey and pepper jack sandwich for $15.

The "Date Night Package" includes a pint of Ben & Jerry's chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, a Hershey's chocolate bar, a can of Red Bull, an 18-piece pack of Trident gum, and a three-pack of Trojan Ultra Thin condoms for $20. It is currently available at 7-Eleven at 201 E. Ohio St.

Other packages include the Endurance Pack, the Gameday Pack and the Sniffles Pack.

Customers with lesser activities can also order health care items, household goods, cleaning supplies and frozen foods.

DoorDash spokesman Eitan Bencuya said the delivery driver would contact the customer to see a substitute if the nearest 7-Eleven is out of stock on a certain item. "If you're OK with Coke instead of Pepsi, we'll just buy you a Coke," he expounded.

He also revealed age-restricted items like lottery tickets and liquors are not available for delivery. After an initial $2.99 delivery fee, delivery will cost $4.99 in Chicago.

Despite the sad news that Slurpees and alcohol are not currently covered by the service, 7-Eleven spokeswoman Marget Chabris said that it could change. "We're working toward that, but we're not there yet."

The home delivery service is available through mobile apps or the DoorDash website.
