Director Ridley Scott Reveals New ‘Prometheus 2′ Title

Director Ridley Scott revealed that the sequel to his 2012 science fiction film - Prometheus will be titled - Alien: Paradise Lost.

Ridley Scott's Alien: Paradise Lost will be recognized by literary types as the title of an epic 17th century poem by John Milton, about the Fall of Man - where Adam and Eve yielded to temptation from Satan, and the ejection of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden.

Director Scott noted that the reference was done consciously and intentionally. Ridley Scott said that, "It sounds intellectual, but there's a similar feature on it, that's where it ended."

Scott briefly explained about the Alien: Paradise Lost title, "Well, actually really, it's gonna be called 'Alien: Paradise Lost,'" "So 'Prometheus 2's' not really gonna be...you know the poem? I doubt you've ever been through it, have you? The poem is a book, 'Paradise Lost.'"

As the author John Milton deals with the beginnings of mankind, the Alien: Paradise Lost of Ridley Scott will have its own way. The sequel picks up where Prometheus left off, with the Swedish actress Noomi Rapace as Shaw and the German-Irish actor of stage and screen - Michael Fassbender as David, striking out for the Engineer spacecraft trying to look for answers.

In an earlier interview, director Ridley Scott stated, "I thought the subtext of that movie was a bit complicated and impressive, but it asks a good question: who created us?" "You've got to go back and find those engineers and see what they are thinking. If engineers are the predecessor of us, and for that reason were creators of life forms in places that were possible for biology to function, who created that? Where's the big boy?"

In addition, the Alien: Paradise Lost film is currently slated for a 2017 release. And Ridley Scott is also involved in a Blade Runner sequel, which Denis Villeneuve will helm, and a potential sequel for the American science-fiction horror film - Alien.
