Cheryl Fernandez-Versini Weight Loss: 'X Factor' Judge Says 'Being Overweight Is Unhealthy'

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini hits out to people who criticized her weight for being too thin.

Speaking to InStyle magazine about the weight loss criticism she received lately, Cheryl said, "It's crazy double standards. You'd never be allowed to say to somebody, 'Oh, you look a bit fat."

"And being overweight is unhealthy - it's actually a bad message to tell someone who is obese that they look 'curvy' or 'great'."

"But you know what? After this length of time, there's nothing I can hear about myself that I haven't already heard," she added.

Unfortunately, the 'X Factor' judge has sparked a major social backlash after saying that you shouldn't tell overweight people that they look great. Many people were unimpressed with her suggestion as they thought it downright degrades overweight people.

Many people spoke out against Cheryl, particularly RTÉ 2FM DJ Louise McSharry. She actually took a screen grab showing Cheryl's comments and highlighted the sentence that made her livid.

Then she tweeted, "I'm actually livid over this [expletive]."

She followed with another tweet, saying, "I'm sorry that people are giving Cheryl abuse over her body, but it's not cool for her to turn around on others then."

"Having lived her whole life as a thin beautiful woman body-shaming must have come as a shock to her but some of us live with it every day."

Then she posted another tweet, suggesting that she is fighting for the "fat people."

"I'm ending this rant now, but fat people, I love you and I will fight your corner to the bitter [expletive] end."

Cheryl hasn't released any statement yet about the recent controversy.

Meanwhile, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's cover shoot for the InStyle magazine will be in newsstands on October 1. Aside of her weight loss issues, she also revealed to the mag her marriage, looks and working with Simon Cowell.
