The DXP, or Delivery ExPert, is more an oven than it is a car. All the passenger space at the back of the car has been converted to storage space with its own warming oven, The Verge reported. The fleet of 97 DXPs can each hold a whopping 80 pizzas each. There is also space for 2-liter soda bottles, salads, wings, and everything else.
The interiors are also well-thought of. Non-slip surfaces can be found inside for an even more stable delivery. It might seem like overkill but there is an explanation behind this. First, each delivery car can accommodate more orders and therefore make more efficient deliveries, Engadget noted.
Customer satisfaction is also more than guaranteed because of the extreme care taken to ensure that orders are exactly how you like them. Another benefit is that the DXP is an advertisement on wheels. Every delivery made lets everyone who sees it know about Domino's super commitment to their customers.
If that was not enough, the DXP also comes equipped with an out-for-delivery light and a puddle light. The puddle light makes sure that the driver will not get a nasty surprise when stepping out of the vehicle.
The DXPs are expected to debut in 25 US cities in the next 90 days. Boston, Dallas, New Orleans, San Diego, and Seattle are just a few cities that can expect the delivery car of the future on their streets. The DXP is the product of a partnership between General Motors R&D exec Kenneth R. Baker, Roush Enterprises, and Domino's, M Live reported.
