Ariana Grande Thinks Radio Host Needs 'To brush up on equality'

The well-known pop singer, Ariana Grande was recently interviewed on radio station Power 106 in Los Angeles. All was fine until the conversation between the singer and the hosts gradually became more gendered. According to NME, the hosts', Justin Cedible and Eric D-Lux, were asking the singer about things that were presumably things that only girls like. Grande was expecting to discuss her new single, "Focus."

The hosts were interviewing her on her use of emojis. They also asked about her use of mobile phones, implying that she cannot stand not using it for several hours. The hosts said to their listeners, "Ladies: learn". But Grande interrupted saying, "Boys, learn".

At one point during the interview Grande said to one of the interviewers, D-Lux, that he needed some brushing up on equality and she even went on to say that she didn't want to hang out at the radio station anymore.

The Independent also reported that last Monday, Grande posted an essay on Instagram criticizing one Twitter user's comparison of her and the Modern Family star Ariel Winter. She said that "tweets, comments, statements like this are not okay" as this was considered as body shaming and objectifying of women.

Earlier this year, Ariana Grande wrote an essay on sexism. In her essay, she emphasized about misogyny in the media.  She said that she is "tired of living in a world where women are mostly referred to as a man's past, present or future" and that she "can't wait to live in a world where people are not valued by who they're dating / married to / attached to, having sex with (or not) / seen with ... but by who they are as an individual."

Ariana Grande isn't the only personality that strongly makes a stand against gender equality. Famous celebrities like Emma Watson and Jennifer Lawrence also took a brave stance recently against the inequality they say is still ever present in today's world.
