Chris Kattan Arrested and Charged With DUI After Crashing Car into Truck

Comedian-actor Chris Kattan has been charged with driving under the influence after crashing his car into a Department of Transportation vehicle that was making repairs on a Los Angeles freeway.

CNN reported that the former "Saturday Night Live" cast member was traveling on the 101 freeway in Los Angeles and was seen weaving in and out of traffic in his Mercedes Benz just before 2 a.m. on Monday.

He then crossed a cone pattern and crashed into a parked Caltrans truck doing maintenance work on a guardrail. The California Highway Patrol said no injuries are reported, but Kattan suffered a bloody nose.

"It could have been a lot worse," Officer Leland Tang said.

Kattan appeared to be impaired and reportedly failed a field sobriety test. CNN reported that the actor was taken into custody for driving under the influence and booked at the Los Angeles Police Department's Van Nuys precinct.

Kattan allegedly confessed to being on prescription medications while driving. He was released on a $15,000 bond at 7:40 a.m. Monday. He later tweeted about the incident, letting his fans know all is well.

Kattan starred on "SNL" from 1996 to 2003 and was best known for the character, Mango. His film credits include "Corky Romano," "Undercover Brother," and "A Night at the Roxbury," also starring actor Will Ferrell.

CNN reported that Kattan has a court date that has been scheduled for March 3.
