Ellen DeGeneres Throws a Pizza-Fest At the 2014 Oscars

Ellen DeGeneres threw a pizza party at the 86th annual Academy Awards on Sunday.

The host decided that it would be a great idea to order some pizza pies for a crowd full of stars, who sat through the nearly four-hour telecast. Ellen dragged a pizza delivery guy, who worked at Big Mama's & Papa's Pizzeria on Sunset Boulevard, from backstage to hand out slices.

E! News reported that the delivery man was fulfilling an order for five of the chain's large specialties, 60 square slices each, and a selection of smaller pies.

"Yes, we did [deliver the pizza]. We had a couple of guys during the Oscars," a source told the MailOnline. "It was five Big Papas at 60 square slices each. But they got a bunch more, those were just the big ones."

DeGeneres walked through the crowd, persuading stars to dig in; she also told the celebrity audience that she had a vegetable pizza with tomato sauce, a cheese pizza and other different kinds.

"I've never done this before, you help," DeGeneres told the delivery man, who offered slices to the stars in their gowns and tuxedos. Apparently the delivery man had no idea that he would be appearing in front of millions of viewers.

Stars who indulged in a slice of pizza included Jennifer Lawrence, Jamie Foxx and daughter Corinne, Channing Tatum and wife Jenna Tatum, Martin Scorsese and Dax Shepard. Jared Leto took a slice and offered it to his mother. Harrison Ford stood up and helped himself to a slice.

Chiwetel Ejiofor of "12 Years A Slave" received a whole box of pizza that he shared with his neighbors. Oscar winner Julia Roberts asked for cheese, while actor Brad Pitt asked for pepperoni.

Leonardo diCaprio passed as the pizza box passed in front of him. Kerry Washington was reportedly passed over for a slice but enjoyed a gluten-free slice backstage.

But one delivery boy apparently was not enough. Pitt lent a helping hand, offering actress Meryl Streep a slice. Actor Kevin Spacey handed out slices and plates to his fellow actors and directors before grabbing a slice for himself.

Toward the end of the Oscar pizza-fest, DeGeneres joked that she did not have any money and asked Sandra Bullock for help with the tip; however, the actress did not have any money on her. DeGeneres passed around a Pharrell Williams-like big hat in order to gather tips for the pizza delivery from the stars.

"Where's Harvey Weinstein?" Ellen asked the crowd. After finding him, she noted that there was "only a billion people watching" and to give "whatever you think is right" for a tip.

The host reportedly gathered around $300 in tips from celebrities.
