Gods of Egypt Trailer: Climbing the Charts After its Release

The God's of Egypt trailer was recently released online and since then, netizens have recognized its potential and are voicing out opinions about it. The God's of Egypt trailer gave us an insight on the movie which will star Nikolaj-Coster Waldau best known for his role in The Game of Thrones and lead actor Gerard Butler, the Spartan King from the 300 movie franchise.

The trailer starts out as the Egyptian God of Darkness, Set, played by actor Gerard Butler, fight Egyptian god Horus that is played by Nikolaj-Coster Waldau. Set defeats Horus, relieving him of his powers and captures the throne of the Egyptian empire. 

On the other hand, Bek, a mortal hero, played by actor Brenton Thwaits, is set to help the dethroned god in order to bring peace to the world he lives in. The two go on to fight Set's army of gods, beast's and demon's to fulfill the ultimate mission to save the world and to rescue Bek's love from annihilation.

Based on a screenplay by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, it features a well diverse plot that is both science fiction and ancient mythology. The Gods of Egypt is directed by Alex Proyas, an Australian director with films such as, Dark City (1998) and I, Robot (2004), which was successful during the years of their debut. 

The trailer has already owned up to its viewers by raising 200,000 views on iTunes alone on its first few hours of release. Sweeping CGI technology was used in the production of mythical Egypt and its creatures, while the filming took place in Australia.

The movie has controversial question's raised about "white washing" and a lack of Egyptian looking casts.

Lions Gate announced the movie's premier on February 12, 2016. The movie is set to be released in 2D and RealD 3D.
