Fallout 4: Bethesda Gives Update on Patch in Thank You Letter to Fans

It's been more than a week since the release of Fallout 4. By all accounts, the game has been a bona fide success with gamers and critics alike singing its praises since launch. Developer Bethesda Game Studios took some time to acknowledge fans by posting this letter on their website.

"Thank you! We can't say it enough- thank you for the amazing support you've given us. We're incredibly blessed to have so many incredible fans. You've made Fallout 4 not just our largest game launch ever, but one of the industry's. It's beyond anything we hoped for." It reads.

The studio says it's well aware of the many bugs and glitches players have found while making their way through the game, and ensures they will be dealt with immediately.

"A hundred testers will never replicate the many millions playing the game now, and we're hard at work addressing the top issues."

One such example is this game breaking bug discovered by users on Bethesda's forums.

The company says that they will be rolling out smaller, more frequent updates as opposed to big, sweeping patches.

"Our process for updating the game will include releasing a beta patch on Steam, followed by full release on PC, then release on the consoles. This process has worked well for us in the past and allows us to get more fixes out faster."

A release date for the first update was not provided in the letter.

Regardless, it looks tons of players are enjoying the game so far.

According to MCV, Fallout 4 has already moved half a million units in the UK alone.

"Fallout 4 smashed the 500,000 barrier, generating more than £24m in revenue, and that's without counting digital sales via Steam, PSN or Xbox Live." Reads the report.
