Metallica Will Be Involved in the Fourth Annual San Francisco Giants ‘Metallica Night’

The upcoming and fourth yearly event - "Metallica Night" of the American professional baseball franchise San Francisco Giants will be held at AT&T Park - Friday, May 6, 2016 in San Francisco - as the San Francisco Giants will play ball against the Colorado Rockies.

Like the first three installments of the San Francisco Giants event - "Metallica Night," the American heavy metal band Metallica will throw out the first pitch of the game and perform a version of the national anthem of America - "The Star-Spangled Banner".

The Metallica band stated, "We'll stick around all night to cheer on the orange and black with all the loyal fans and keep your eyes peeled to spot us participating in some in between inning action."

The special-event tickets for the San Francisco Giants against Colorado Rockies game will go on sale on November 27 at 8:00 a.m. PST - as a slice of Orange and Black Friday.

The special-event Metallica ticket package comprises of a ticket to the Giants against the Rockies game, and a limited-edition of a Metallica and Giants freebie. However, the details will be unveiled at a later date. A portion of the proceeds from every special-event ticket of the "Metallica Night" will benefit the Surfrider Foundation and Amnesty International.

Prior to last year's festivities of the San Francisco Giants, the co-founder, lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and main songwriter of Metallica - James Hetfield, had a conversation with Bay Area radio station Live 105 and Hetfield made it clear on how this melding of rock and baseball came about.

James Hetfield stated, "The band is fortunate enough to live in the Bay Area and hook up with the San Francisco Giants. They are a bunch of local boys doing good and we are hopefully in the same department as that. It's basically a fun night. Local people. Local music."

James Hetfield added that he has been a baseball fan in the early part of his life, throughout the '70s and the '80s era.
