'Health Timebomb' Is your Water Being Poisoned By Other Peoples Pills?

Lurking dangers going through the water system continually increases, as numerous water sources are already affected.  As per Daily Mail, one of UK's  leading scientists, Professor Michael Depledge was able to come up with the answer on why most water systems are highly contaminated.

The answer is linked to the presence of numerous pills which varies from heart supplements, depression, and hormone pills. These toxic substances were able to access the drainage every time an individual would relieve his/ her bladder. urine would then pass though the drainage, absorbed by the environment and would go through the drinking water.

The former chief scientist at the Environment Agency told Good Health "We are being exposed to a growing number of chemicals, and mixtures of chemicals during our increasingly lengthy lives, Low concentrations of highly active pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical residues are being excreted into sewage works, where one would hope they would be broken down into harmless substances. But in fact they are not,"

These pills that caused harm in the water system were identified as anti-depressants, antibiotics, pain killers, anti-inflammatory, beta-blockers, contraceptives, and hormone replacement therapies. These contents that were listed are known to be the most harmful culprits in damaging the water system.

A substantial amount of these drugs were found in the drainage through urine, but it's not the only way these chemicals infiltrate the water supply. As per the website, some were found downstream, from pharmaceutical plants, while antibiotics on the other hand were wound on farm animals which made its way into the rivers and lakes.

In relation to the previous study, the EPA, Environmental Protection Agency is doing its best to preserve the drinking water by identifying its contaminants. They then came up with various methods to provide safe drinking water for the public. They website enlisted various processes on how they keep the drinking water safe.
