New Study Shows: Weight Loss Is Hard To Achieve When Emotional and Psychological Aspects Are Neglected

People spend so much of their time trying to achieve weight loss by doing exercise and some would even starve themselves (which is completely wrong and unhealthy) that they forget about one of the key components for its success and it's their emotional state. According to research done related to this issue, this is the reason why those people who didn't tend to look over their emotional state with regards to this plan just end up going back to gaining weight again.

A neuropsychologist named Dr. Diane Robinson said that this phenomenon in diet and weight loss is not something that is surprising. As the program director of Integrative Medicine at Orlando, Dr. Robinson is very much in the position to give analysis on the said issue.

The website Orlando Health published this research with her contribution to the topic saying,  "Most people focus almost entirely on the physical aspects of weight loss, like diet and exercise. But there is an emotional component to food that the vast majority of people simply overlook and it can quickly sabotage their efforts."

Based on statistics, ¾ of the male population in the United States are suffering from obesity, while 60% of the female population is affected by it. This is why programs on weight loss are currently a priority in the country.

Dr. Robinson further explained more tips about this with, "In order to lose weight and keep it off long term, we need to do more than just think about what we eat, we also need to understand why we're eating."

It is easier to say it than do it, especially now that the holidays are coming. But self-control and being aware of everything that goes into the body is a good start to keep a real diet successful.
