Ed Sheeran is Facebook's 2015 Number One Entertainer in the World BUT Was Snubbed in a 2-Dollar Gig in Australia

Facebook's 2015 Year in Review has just been released and Ed Sheeran came out as the Number One most talked-about entertainer in the global arena. Taylor Swift ranked second to her former front act and Kanye West rounded up the year's Big 3.

He's also had an electrifying two-week sold-out run in Sidney, where just the other day he had the crowd screaming in happiness for several minutes when he surprised them with a live duet of 'Don't Go Breaking My Heart' with Elton John. This was followed by a few of Ed's unreleased songs.

So why was this English-born musician - with his global Number One entertainer status, venue record-breaking shows in Sydney plus his track record of packed $85++/ticket stadiums and halls -very recently snubbed in an intimate, two-dollar gig at a tiny Australian 'venue'?

Apparently, the persons responsible for this little infamy were Australian presenters Hamish Blake and Andy Lee of the popular 'Hamish and Andy' radio show.  The two decided to conduct a little experiment to see how successful an event they could make out of advertising a do as an 'Ed Sheeran Peep Show'. It was to be a 30-second private gig with the real Ed Sheeran inside a red-curtained booth. The event was so unsuccessful not a single person, except for Hamish and Andy, went inside the booth at all - for a long while that is until a few stragglers rolled in. Probably Hamish all dodgily dressed up and inviting people to come into the booth did not really help.

What did the experiment prove? Nothing really except for two important things: 1) the public is still sane and discriminating and 2) Ed Sheeran, for all his successes, is an impressively down-to-earth guy. Click HERE to watch the show.
