Starbucks Menu: Coffee Chain Adds New Dish That May Make or Break Your Day

On the verge of the ever-competitive fast food industry, Starbucks tries to fight back by adding new Mexican style food choices to its menu.

Starbucks just recently introduced the Spicy Chorizo, Monterey Jack & Egg Breakfast Sandwich and Ancho-Chipotle Chicken Panini to the public. However, the coffee chain's customers are disappointed to this latest food attempt by the restaurant.

As per the usual marketing strategy though, the sandwich look good at the photo -- a spicy chorizo accompanied by a Monterey Jack cheese as well as caramelized onions and egg. When the actual order is given, however, the surprises begin to come out.

According to Foodbeast, instead of a crumbling chorizo piece, the sandwich is stuffed with a reddish colored patty which is actually the chorizo. This makes an unusual sight for a first timer. The chorizo patty, which they say is made from pork, water, salt, spices, paprika, dextrose, garlic powder and onion powder, does not taste like how a real chorizo should.

Their Ancho-Chipotle Chicken Panini is made from shredded chicken breast meat in ancho chipotle sauce, red poblano peppers, red onion, Gouda cheese and spicy cilantro pesto on a ciabatta roll. Although it offered a better dining experience, the filling looks like a mushy and odd-looking when stuffed inside a sandwich.

What pushed Starbucks to release these items?

"We saw an opportunity to create sandwiches with bold flavors. Chorizo is popular right now and spicy is on trend, so this guided our direction," said Sita Kacker, Starbuck's product development manager on their press release.

Starbucks might be on the right track with a good concept, but it will never be remarkable for their customers. These product ideas are reportedly not supported by good quality meals which might drive away customers.
