Registration for the much awaited RunDisney 2016 will open this coming March 29. Race goers and health enthusiasts flock to this event annually because it is not your typical marathon. The 13.1 mile Half marathon race takes place inside the Walt Disney Theme Parks with the special participation of your favorite Disney characters and a special wine and dines after party for the participants.
The Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend is part of the annual Epcot Food and Wine Festival happening from 14th of September to 14th of November 2016.
Due to the high attendance of participants recording in the previous years, preregistration is encouraged to secure a slot for the marathon. For the past years, tickets were sold out weeks before the event.
According to Disney Food Blog Newsletter, race goers can expect the return of Mickey's 5K Run and runDisney's Kid Races.

There will also be new attractions during the event. Disney 10k will be launched this year for the most serious marathoners with an additional on-course and after-event refreshments for the participants. A 19.3 miles Lumiere 2-course challenge will also be launched this year.
High traffic for the marathon is not surprising since this is not your usual marathon with Disney characters cheering you on the course as you race, and with a refreshing wine and dine party waiting for the participants at the finish line.
