Nestlé Discontinues Favorite Caramac and Animal Bar After 60 Years

Nestlé has been a popular brand worldwide, especially in their chocolate products such as Crunch, Aero, Milky Way, Butterfinger, Milky Bar, Bounty, and KitKat. Unfortunately, according to recent reports, the company will withdraw two of its "classic" chocolate products from the market due to low demand.

Fans are freaking out, and bakeries are stockpiling the delicious treat as a result of Nestlé's decision to cease production of its caramel chocolate bar known as the Caramac because of a steady decline in sales. In an email sent to a bakery close to Edinburgh, the food manufacturer stated that it would remove its Caramac products. The chocolate bars were used in the production of eclairs at the bakery. As mentioned, Nestlé started phasing out the sale of Caramac single bars beginning in September, and it will reportedly remain available in bundles until the end of the year.

Moreover, just a few hours after informing chocolate lovers that the venerable Caramac bar would be discontinued, Nestlé announced that it would no longer produce a second chocolate bar named Animal Bar. The confectionery company has further disappointed sweet-toothed Britons by announcing its intention to cease production of this chocolate.

In 1963, the Animal bar was introduced as a milk chocolate bar made from real milk and had an entertaining game on the inside of each wrapper. Every bar features two different named creatures molded onto the surface. Even though it had been available in the market for the past 60 years, Nestlé has decided to discontinue production of the beloved sweets since sales have progressively decreased.

Consumers' Reaction Online on the Decision of Nestlé

The consumers felt devastated by Nestlé's decision to discontinue the production of decades-old Caramac and Animal Bar that were popular with kids in the 1960s and 70s. Although the company claims that it is not as well-known as some of the other products in its line, it has been a lifelong favorite for many Britons, and some of them now demand that the chocolate manufacturer change its decision.

One supporter was moved to write about their youth after being motivated by the news. As stated, the first time the fan can remember eating Caramac was as a child when they opened a Caramac Easter egg containing two or maybe even three bars. Consuming the entire quantity in one sitting while feeling ill. Others responded that they "loved it so much" and could not believe their favorite chocolate would be removed. One user referred to the chocolate as "a true classic."

On the other hand, many people have taken to social media to encourage Nestlé to reconsider its decision. There was also a case of a woman pleading with NestléUK. She asserted that she is extremely shocked to learn that it will soon no longer be possible to purchase Caramac. The woman reportedly buys a pack of four of these every week when she does her grocery shopping. "I hope if enough people complain, maybe they will reconsider?" she noted.
