Sophie Hunter, actress, 36 is officially the fiancée of 'Sherlock' actor, Benedict Cumberbatch. The actor formally announced the engagement in a good old-fashioned way through a notice in UK's newspaper, The Times of London.
Fans of Cumberbatch are gonna melt their hearts for days as the London-raised 38 year old actor declared himself off the market starting Nov.5 to marry a fellow Brit, actress and theater director, Sophie Hunter. The announcement came quietly through a printed good old shout out in the UK newspaper stating, "Mr B.T. Cumberbatch and Miss S.I. Hunter: The engagement is announced between Benedict, son of Wanda and Timothy Cumberbatch of London, and Sophie, daughter of Katharine Hunter of Edinburgh and Charles Hunter of London"
Cumberbitches can get a copy of the announcement, cut it out and keep the clippings to mark the day Hunter got their man of dreams. But low and behold for the adorable newspaper announcement isn't the only thing to be green with envy over Sophie Hunter, actress and now future Mrs. Cumberbatch because according to a report by UK's Daily Mirror, the romantic actor even took a trip to Edinburgh to meet Hunter's mother and ask for the lucky lady's hands for marriage.
Cumberbatch and Hunter's relationship was first confirmed in June when a photograph of them together at the French Open circulated in the web. The two are believed to have met for the first time in 2009 appearing on the set of Susan Luciani's independent thriller film, "Burlesque Fairytales".
It appears that like "The Imitation Game" star, Hunter keeps a very private life. Accounts about soon to be Mrs. Cumberbatch shows her involvement in both film and theater. Sophie Hunter, actress and award-winning theater director, is an Oxford graduate much known for her notable avant-garde plays. One of her directorial stints was the North American tour of 2013 experimental play, "The Shackleton Project" which dramatized the almost fatal expedition of Ernest Shackleton, an Antarctic explorer featuring performers on stilts manipulating marionette puppets.
