TV Land Ends ‘Hot in Cleveland’: Season 6 as its Final Show

It is a bad news for all "Hot in Cleveland" fans because TV Land decided that the show's season 6 will be the final season for the show.

It was a surprise decision from the TV Land because "Hot in Cleveland" is one of the network's first and most successful original programming.  The show that starred Betty White, Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick runs for five great seasons. It was Larry W. Jones, TV Land president who announced the cancellation of the show after its 6th season. He also added that it was an honor to work with the stars of the show and also with the executive producers, Sean Hayes, Suzanne Martin, Todd Milliner and the rest of the writers, crew and production team. Jones also added that the team effort and the hard work that each of them put on the show made TV Land known as a network dedicated to quality original programming.

Season 6 premiere only gathered 660,000 viewers compared to Season 5 premiere one million viewers mark.  TV Land even made the pilot for free to increase the ratings but still few people watched the pilot episode. Compare to its earlier seasons which they gather three million viewers in each episode, "Hot in Cleveland" is starting to drop their ratings each season.  TV Land kept the "Hot in Cleveland" on air because it was the network's first scripted show and it was the most associated show to the network.

However, the "Hot in Cleveland" spinoff, "The Soul Man" is still going strong. The network is also the home for the shows, "The Exes", "Candid Camera" and the new series "Younger", starring Hilary Duff which will be aired in January 2015.

Fans of "Hot in Cleveland" can still enjoy the remaining episodes. The network signed for "Hot in Cleveland" 24 episodes for Season 6 which gave them more time to end the show however they want.  Jones and the rest of the cast and crew of "Hot in Cleveland" are all looking forward to a great series finale.
