Marvel and Fox may be at odds with each other at the movies but on TV it's all buddy-buddy. The two companies have just announced a huge partnership that will bring two X-Men themed scripted series to Fox's channels, as per Deadline.
The first show, titled 'Hellfire', is set for release on Fox. As the name suggests, the series will center on the X-Men universe's Hellfire Club; a secret society of movers and shakers trying to take over the world. Moviegoers may remember the organization from 2011's X-Men: First Class.
'Set in the late 1960s, Hellfire, produced by 20th Century Fox TV and Marvel Television, with 20th Century Fox handling the physical production - follows a young Special Agent who learns that a power-hungry woman with extraordinary abilities is working with a clandestine society of millionaires - known as "The Hellfire Club" - to take over the world.' Says the Deadline report.
The second series, which is slated for release on FX, is called 'Legion.' Deadline describes it as:
Legion introduces the story of David Haller: Since he was a teenager, David has struggled with mental illness. Diagnosed as schizophrenic, David has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. But after a strange encounter with a fellow patient, he's confronted with the possibility that the voices he hears and the visions he sees might be real. He's based on the Marvel comics character Legion, the son of X-Men founder Charles Xavier.
Immediately after this TV deal was announced, rumors began surfacing around the web about the Fantastic Four's potential return to the Disney/Marvel umbrella in a move similar to the one brokered with Spider-Man rights holders Sony last year.
However, this claim was instantly batted down by PR teams from both camps.
