As per Today, on Tuesday, Dec. 5, Taco Bell announced that its Double Decker Taco, a fan favorite, will return to the nationwide market. After being removed from the menu in 2019, the product is now available for a limited time for $2.99. The Double Decker Taco is described as the 'perfect combination of crunchy and soft textures' by the restaurant. It reportedly comprises a bean-filled tortilla wrapped around a taco shell and stuffed with seasoned beef, lettuce, and shredded cheddar cheese.

Moreover, customers can also purchase the Double Decker Taco Supreme, which costs $3.69 and includes diced tomatoes and reduced-fat sour cream in addition to their taco. In addition, on Tuesday, Dec. 5, the chain also presented u/ImissTheDoubleDecker with a complimentary one, creating a sentimental and cheesy holiday moment.

Voting to Return Double Decker Taco on the Menu

Fans were allowed to vote on whether the Enchirito or the Double Decker Taco should be brought back into production in 2022. Thus, even though the Enchirito won the competition, the Double Decker Taco garnered about 40% of the votes.

Taco Bell fans have a special place in their hearts for the Double Decker Taco. According to a statement released by Taylor Montgomery, chief marketing officer, it was difficult to overlook the overwhelming amount of love this product received from its followers across all our social media platforms. Following the heated confrontation with the Enchirito that had taken place the previous year, the feeling was exceptionally high. As mentioned, it became evident that the company could no longer deny their supporters the pleasure of the Double Decker Taco after attentively considering their desires.

The Double Decker Taco can be purchased for $2.99, while the Supreme variant can be purchased for $3.69. On the other hand, people can take advantage of some digital offerings to get a better value.

Furthermore, members of Uber One get access to an offer that allows them to buy one and receive one free until Sunday, Dec. 10. Additionally, through Tuesday, Dec. 12, customers who utilize DoorDash's 'Deck the Doorstep' service will receive a discount of $5 off purchases of $25 or more, and customers who use DashPass will receive an additional $8 off when they purchase any of their favorite Taco Bell items.
