McDonald’s Menu Becomes Skinnier – Mickey D Axing 8 Items From Menu

While the crisis in sales for fast food chains continues to soar, the biggest chain of all has decided to vamp up the way they're presenting their products by changing up entirely: McDonald's menu will see 8 items less by the beginning of 2015.

Other big fast food chains have decided to change things up, like Pizza Hut's recent rebranding adding new menu items in the United States, or KFC's insanely greasy Double Down burgers; but, for McDonald's, menus will have to change for the brand to live on through the crisis.

According to Los Angeles Times, the McDonald's menu items that didn't make the cut for the year 2015 were taken off due to the fact that something needed to be done in regards of the massive drop in sales in the last few months, some of which have marked the lowest the fast food giant has reported in a decade.

The announcement that McDonald's menu would become smaller by early next year came after the company released an official statement through their website, announcing the items they'd be cutting off from their dining options in what they're calling the "simplification" of the menu, which has been on the grow for a while without many particularly successful new items.

According to USA Today, the McDonald's menu items that will be saying goodbye to the house of Ronald McDonald are: three items from their Quarter Pounder line will disappear (which is to say, Bacon Habanero Ranch, Bacon & Cheese and Deluxe), as well as three from their Premium Chicken Sandwich line (Ranch, BLT and Club); also, three Snack Wraps (Premium, Mac Wraps and Regular) will be disappearing from the menu as well.

For now, the move won't be happening in all McDonald's restaurants, but rather in some test sites: Delaware, Little Rock; Waco, Texas; Bakersfield, California; Macon, Georgia; and Knoxville, Tennessee.
