Microsoft’s Home of the Future: The Hottest Technologies and Innovations for 2015

Microsoft built a futuristic home that is complete with den, bedroom, dining room, kitchen, living room and foyer. It's Microsoft's equivalent of the concept car showing off things that are possible today and could be affordable.

Microsoft envisions a near-future where everything is connected to the cloud. It simply means that a certain home will learn a lot about the daily routine of people living there. It can also remind the users to take their medicines and at the same time automatically send a message to friends and relatives.

There were hundreds of tiny sensors that are located throughout the home that will track everything under the sun. According to Money CNN, Microsoft's Home of the Future has been in existence since in the year 1994 and the company gets a makeover every two years. Nothing on display is actually in Microsoft's product roadmap however the company believes that much of the technology will make its way into middle-class homes in the coming years.

Aside from this, Microsoft invited BBC News to take a first look at their revamped Space of the Future in Redmond, Washington. The overall facility used to portray what the firm thinks life might be like five to ten years in the future.

Based on BBC, the stock price of the firm is roughly where it was five years ago while rivals like Samsung, Amazon and Apple have all seen theirs more than double. The launching of the best selling products for the home could help bolster the Microsoft's reputation for reinvigorate investors and innovation. Engineers revealed a host of ideas including desks that recognize users and at the same time matches their widespread gesture, ergonomic requirements and online content.

In a recent interview when Bill Gates was asked if he was happy with the overall performance of the firm under chief executive Steve Ballmers, he replied "There are a lot of awesome things that Steve's leadership got done at the company over the last year however it is not enough.
