Derrick Rose Suffers from Knee Injury and Needs to Undergo Surgery

The famous point guard of Chicago Bulls Derrick Rose underwent a surgery after incurring a knee injury. The team revealed that Ross got a torn medial meniscus in his right knee and this incident is considered to be the 3rd major knee injury that Ross got throughout his career. According to ABC News, Chicago Bulls stated that the player underwent the MRI and the test showed the tear and the surgery would be scheduled and the timeline for his return in the game is not yet set.

This event marks another frustrating setback in the promising career of Derrick Rose. He is a native of Chicago and he was chosen and included in the initial pick of the NBA draft in 2008 and he instantly gained stardom, earning 3 all-star game selections in his initial 4 NBA seasons. He gained awards such as the Rookie of the Year in 2008 to 2009 and the MVP in 2010 to 2011. He turned to be the youngest player to earn such awards at the age of 22.

Derrick Rose happened to suffer from a knee injury when his team played against the Philadelphia 76ers. He missed the whole 2012-2013 season while he needed to recover from the injury. He came back into the scene in October 2013, yet within a few months, he left once again after gaining an injury in his right knee. Derrick Rose appeared in 46 games for this season, averaging 18.4 points with 5 assists for every game.

The news of the knee injury gave sadness to all his fellow players and basketball fans considering the past two seasons where Derrick Rose played and left having knee injuries. According to USA Today, Rose reported ache in his injured knee to the doctors of the team. He was sent to undergo an MRI to verify what causes the pain and it has been found out that his medial meniscus on his right knee was damaged.
