Dakota Johnson SNL ISIS Toyota Spoof Goes Too Far, ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Star Trashed [VIDEO]

Ever since its release on Valentine's Day, "Fifty Shades of Grey" has turned into one of the most successful films of the past few years, making the actors who play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele instant stars - but, even with her newfound fame, Dakota Johnson's SNL skit has been deemed to have gone too far.

For her new appearance on Saturday Night Live, the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson (both of whom appeared in the show last weekend for her opening monologue) did a small spot spoofing an US Army one ... but the Dakota Johnson SNL one took things a step too far.

According to Sky News, while the late Saturday variety show is famous for taking risqué moves, it seems like the Dakota Johnson SNL spot was too much to bear, as, in the small clip, the "50 Shades of Grey" actress says goodbye to her father as she leaves home ... only to join the Islamic State, a Western enemy and deemed terrorists.

As CNN reports, in the Dakota Johnson SNL appearance, she plays a young woman about to embark in what seems like a trip to the US Army, all packed up and saying goodbye to her father - then, to calm down the nervous parent, she tells him "Dad, it's only ISIS!"

This has gathered mixed reviews, as it has been considered in poor taste that, in spite of the recent killings performed by the terrorist group, Dakota Johnson's SNL appearance actually mocked it.

However, the rest of the Saturday Night Live cast didn't agree with the controversy.

"Proud of this," tweeted Taran Killam, a cast member and Cobie Smulders' real life husband, who played Johnson's father in the spot. "Freedom to mock is our greatest weapon. Thanks to the writers who asked not to be mentioned by name."
