Universal Orlando Resort described what is to be expected from the park. "Imagine a place that offers radically innovative, thrilling attractions, peaceful moments of relaxation and an inspired guest experience that will forever change the perception of water theme parks," as stated in the press release.

A computer-generated rendering of Volcano Bay was also released on Thursday. The theme park will boast of a smoking volcano with an enormous waterfall. It will also have a clear tunnel, deemed to carry a water slide that leads to a massive wave pool. There will also be an addition of two other water slides for the theme park.

The new water park is just one of many recent attractions that Universal Orlando Resort has taken on in the past years. In 2010, there was The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hogsmeade. It was then followed by The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley, Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, and Springfield, an attraction based on the hometown of "The Simpsons."

Eight new venues at Universal CityWalk and the Cabana Bay Beach Resort are also recent additions. In 2016, park goers can also see Skull Island: Reign of Kong and the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort.
