Pizza Hut boxes Turn into Movie Projectors [VIDEO]

Pizza Hut has just put a whole new spin on the term 'Movie Night'. Pizza Hut branches in Hong Kong have just started rolling out new specially designed pizza boxes that fold into a make shift movie projector.

The box comes with a special lens that projects an image of the user's smartphone onto any nearby wall or other surface. Users can then start viewing any media on they have on their phone at present or download 1 of 4 special short films that Pizza Hut has made for the promotion. It seems like the perfect way to spend a night in watching movies at home.

As described by The Verge, The so called 'Blockbuster Box' uses boxes with a perforated, pop-out hole in the side of the box. A very unique pizza table (also called a pizza protector) then serves as the projector's lens. Slip the plastic lens into the hole, and then use the pizza table's legs to prop up your smartphone inside the box. The contraption then blows up your phone's display onto any nearby wall.

There are four different variants of the Blockbuster Box available, each with their own specific movie download available by scanning a QR code inside the box. The films cover a variety of genres including Horror (Slice Night), Romance (Hot & Ready), Action (Fully Loaded), and Sci-Fi (Anchovy Armageddon).

So far no word has been released on whether these boxes will start making their way to Pizza Huts elsewhere in the world. So for now, film buffs and foodies looking to try out the cardboard movie viewing contraption will have to book a flight to Hong Kong right now.

The special 'pizzatainment' boxes are the brain child of the advertising agency Ogilvy and Mather Hong Kong.
