Walmart Cake: Retail Giant Stops Selling Confederate Flag Merch – But ISIS Walmart Cake OK? [PHOTO+VIDEO]

In a story that has gone viral and turned into a public relations nightmare for the world's largest company by revenue, a Walmart cake featuring the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant/Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (best known as ISIL or ISIS) has gone viral, particularly after a Louisiana resident pointed out that the company refused to make a cake based on the Confederate flag.

Chuck Netzhammer, a Louisiana man who requested a Walmart cake based on the likeness of the controversial Confederate flag, felt like testing the true spirits of the company by requesting a cake of the likeness of ISIS' flag - and it was given to him.

According to ABC News, after the ISIS Walmart cake was given to him, Netzhammer posted a video on YouTube that ended up becoming viral, where he condemns the retail company for denying him a cake supporting the Confederate flag while having no problem with ISIS.

"Walmart, you've got some explaining to do," says Netzhammer in the video. "I went back yesterday and managed to get an ISIS battle flag, happens to be somebody we're fighting against right now, who are killing our men and boys overseas and killing Christians."

People Magazine reports that the company announced last week that it would stop selling merchandise featuring the Confederate flag after the racially motivated shootings at Charleston last June, which was the reason Netzhammer's Confederate Walmart cake request, which he wanted to inscribe with the words "Heritage not hate," was denied, prompting him to test Walmart.

As to why the ISIS Walmart cake happened, Vox explains, it was because the employee that accepted the request just wasn't familiar with the design, in fact having no idea it was at all related to ISIS.

After Netzhammer's video about the ISIS Walmart cake went viral, the company extended its apologies by specifying the cake should have never been made and it had been due to the employee's mistake.
