Stephen Colbert Pulls Surprise Stunt, Interviews Eminem on Public Access TV [Video]

It's seems like Stephen Colbert is practicing for his new gig. The famed comedian and satirist, who will be replacing the recently retired David Letterman as host of "The Late Show", made a surprise appearance on a local Michigan public access show where he interviewed one of the state's most famous sons, rapper Eminem.

The episode of the show, which is entitled "Only In Monroe", explored the small Michigan town's hstory.

"Since my last show ended in December, I've been itching to host a talk show again, but my new theater's not ready yet, so I decided to head over to Monroe, Michigan, look around, and give it a Michigander," Says Colbert in the hilarious clip, which available for viewing on Youtube.

The episode begins with Colbert reading of a bunch of facts and trivia about the small town.

The Eminem portion begins at around the half way mark of the show. Colbert cheekily played down the 16 time Grammy winners' presence, introducing the man known as Slim Shady as a "local Michigander who is making a name for himself in the competitive world of music."

Other guests on the program included the shows regular hosts Michelle Baumann and Former Miss America Kaye Lani Rafko-Wilson.

Beth Kern who works at the Local station where Only in Monroe is filmed, said that the former Colbert Report host's hijacking of the program was planned but Eminem's interview portion was a complete surprise.

Colbert is set to make his big debut as host of CBS' The Late Show this September. Colbert previously hosted Comedy Central's 'The Colbert Report' a satrical news program.
